Fall Resolutions- It’s time!

It’s funny but when the weather starts turning (or WILL turn, hopefully before Halloween because no one likes their gold butterfly eye makeup to melt onto their camera eye piece cuz it’s so hot) I like to make a FALL Resolution chart. Very similar to the New Year’s Resolutions we make (and don’t really keep) the Fall Resolution chart is waaaay less serious ( think gym at 4 a.m.) , and way more- how do you say- fun (think, learn how to braid my hair like Elsa’s from Frozen). It’s my way to set up the season for fun activities and mini-goals and to enjoy the rest of the year.

I think sometimes we take the first half of the year SO seriously, trying to make it the BEST YEAR EVER, but doing that we miss out on just enjoying life. Don’t get me wrong, I love having New Year’s Resolutions- they recenter and refocus me (and make me ditch the gluten for the 7th time) but I think the Fall Resolutions are all those ideas & mini-goals that don’t fit in with the strict New Year’s ones.

So to start off, this month I’ve been having a Month of Refreshment series. Apart from my recent First Day of Fall craft- every post has included a way for you to refocus and refresh yourself in preparation for the Fall season. With the kids going back to school and everyone pulling themselves out of the sleepy haze of summer, I thought it would be an awesome time to get reenergized and focused on our goals. So far these are the posts on refreshment. Take a look through, incase you’ve missed one 🙂

Making Fall Resolutions are another great way to refresh and gear yourself up to end the year just as strong as you started it. Now, like I mentioned- these resolutions can pretty much be anything you want! They don’t have to center around anything particular, they are just a way for you get the most out of the rest of this year.

SO, without further ado, these are mine:

This Fall, I resolve to..

  1. Wear heels, real heels- (especially on the weekends) because it’s grown up and because it makes me look nicer. And because I’m not scared…

2. Cook at least ONE real meal- and by real I mean a meal that my even my been-cooking-since-I-was-7 roommate would eat.

3. Buy some fancy pajamas and sleep in them even when I’m not feeling luxurious. And maybe wear them on the street.

4. Learn coding…alright, what I really mean is learn to change the color of my font on my sidebars >sigh<.

5. Invest in good quality tights. Leather to be exact, ala Olivia Newton John.

6. Try harder. In everything. Especially my clothes. and makeup. oh and hair.

7. Figure out the art of loafers and decide if I want to try them.

8. Give myself bangs. Just kidding- my foreheads too small……

9. Speaking of hair, see how long I can go without washing it... OR maybe just make a DIY natural shampoo (we’ll see).

10. Use cash instead of a card. Except online, cuz well let’s face it. That’s impossible.

11. Empty my purse out every week so that I don’t carry around 2 lbs of receipts and bubble gum trash.

12. Think long and hard about the color purple ( the ACTUAL color purple, not the movie). Then buy something purple.

13. Watch the Color Purple. (the movie). Cry.

14. Take more selfies with my niece.

15. Smile more. (But get a teeth whitener first).

AND that’s it!! What do you guys think? See it’s simple!

Now, what are your resolutions? What’s that? You don’t have any fancy paper to write them on? Eh, I figured you’d say that which is why I have an easy downloadable template for you to write your resolutions on. I know, you’re welcome.

I wish I could’ve included ALL my resolutions like building myself a house and everything in it, but eh maybe next year 😉

SO I’m really curious to know - what are YOUR Fall Resolutions?
