Good morning everyone! Hope this Monday morning is treating you well! It’s a quiet morning for me, thankfully so since my weekend was insanely busy! I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a blogging conference, but the days were so jam-packed that last night I found myself exhausted, achey and feeling like I needed something to just help me relax.
I love drinking chamomile tea at night to release tension and stress, so I decided to add some extra ingredients to the tea and ended up making a rather yummy, soothing and calming concoction that helped me sleep great and feel so refreshed this morning.
I now call it my Perfect Weekend Wrap-up Tea. It’s my soothing and refreshing night time recipe for those moments when just regular tea won’t cut it.
To make it you’ll need:
- Chamomile tea
- dash of milk
- clover/mulling spices
- ground cinnamon
- ground nutmeg
- sweetener of your choice (sugar, honey etc.)
First, go ahead and boil your water and seep your tea for as long as you normally do. I like mine about 3 - 4 mins. Next add your sweetener and a dash of warm milk. I have a milk frother and use it religiously! It makes all the difference for me, but you can also just warm your milk in the microwave, no biggie.
Next add some clover and other mulling spices. I had some spices left over from a mulling kit- but it’s not necessary to have the spices in their full form. After you’ve let the spices mull for a little while, add a dash of the cinnamon and nutmeg on top. And that’s it!
It might be strange to think of a soothing and calming tea on a Monday morning- but if you are still exhausted from a busy weekend, this might just be the perfect calming drink to make tonight! It’s obviously great any night of the week and as chamomile often helps do, you’ll sleep soundly and wake up feeling refreshed!
The plus is that it also has those flavors and smells of autumn and with the first day of fall nearby, I am welcoming all the spices! Hope you have a great day!
