Welcome November & Thankful chart
Hi Friends! Welcome to November! I know, it feels a little strange to say, I feel like I was just saying welcome to October. I love November, it’s the calmer month before the crazy rush of December where you literally don’t get a chance to think until you’re sitting on your couch and it’s January 2 and you’ve eaten a whole leftover pecan pie thinking, is it really the new year already?!? I also love November because it’s the month that forces us to be thankful. Not many months do that- unfortunately so- but November is a pro at that.
This year I feel like it’ll dig a little deeper in me. My mom just went through a surgery, nothing too too huge, but the whole fact of it made me realize the delicate nature of our lives. Such a simple concept, here today-gone tomorrow, but it somehow never applies to us or our loved ones. I’m grateful for November, to have come this far in this difficult year, but I don’t just want to say my #thankful reasons on Turkey day, er Thanksgiving, I think it should be a daily occurrence.
That’s why I’ve made something fairly simple. Nothing too frou-frou or fancy, just a chart and some stickies.
I call it my #thankfuleveryday chart. The # is in there just for looks, lol.
It’s simple- think of one thing to be thankful for, write it on a sticky note, stick it on the chart. Everyday for 30 days, the month of November.
It’s a discipline that I hope catches on even after the 30 days are over. They say it takes 30 days to make it a habit so…
My first sticky note for Nov. 1 says, “Thankful for the family the Lord has given me, and the time we spend together.”
Today’s will say: “Thankful for a job!”
What about you- how will you begin to celebrate this month? What does your November look like, or what would you like it to look like? Let me know via social media or here on the site, I’d love to hear from you! Happy Monday.
