I’d love to say, “it’s sweater weather! Go grab your blankets and cozy up with this Maple & Spice Latte”! Buuuuuuut, I’m not saying that because it’s 70 degrees in Texas! Grr! However, the thick clouds that have rolled in make it seem cold outside, so I’m still gonna say it- Cozy up with this Maple & Spice Latte!
Maple & Spice Latte
A touch of real maple syrup and some strong espresso make this drink the perfect afternoon pick-me-up!
Here’s what you’ll need for the Maple & Spice Latte:
- 8 - 12 ounces of milk (any kind desired)
- 2 shots of espresso (less depending on preference)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of real maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- pinch of allspice
- pinch of cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
Directions:
1. Start by warming and frothing your milk either in a small saucepan, in the microwave or with an espresso machine milk steamer. If you go the saucepan route, you can use a whisk or a small battery packed milk frother to get the foam.
2. Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and spices to the mug.
3. Next, add the espresso shots. I used my stovetop espresso maker.
4. Pour the warmed milk into the mug, stirring all the together and reserving the foam for last.
5, After stirred through, add the foam and cinnamon and enjoy!
It might not be cold in Texas but at least with this latte, I won’t know the difference!
