Birthday Cake Chandelier
Happy Monday! I’m really excited becaaaaaause today is Well-Made Heart’s ONE year birthdaaaaaay!!! YAY!! It’s not the official date, but last year on the first Monday in February I posted my first blog post. It’s been a journey and it is so exciting to see the progress. So, in honor of today’s birthday, I thought a cake would be fitting. A Red Velvet cake (because it’s also Valentine’s Month). I didn’t want regular ol’ candles though, so how about a cute cake chandelier!?! Yessss!
To make this, you’ll need:
Skewer stick / glue / scissors / cardstock paper / ribbon
It’s really the simplest thing. Just cut out two strips of paper, one smaller than the other.
Measure out the strip, placing marks where you will glue the ribbon.
Cut strips of ribbon and glue in place on the marks. Then cut out your chandelier dots (or whatever designs you want) and add to the bottoms of the ribbon with glue. I used hot glue but you can use whatever type will work.
Do this for both strips. Next, all you have to do is hot glue the strip to the back of the skewer. Do the same for the smaller strip, make sure that it’s a little lower so that you can see it.
Next, just add it to your cake and DONE! So cute and a great alternative to candles! You can do so much with this, like adding names or a monogram on top. Hanging jewels or tiny crystals instead of paper for a fancier cake is good too!
And NOW onto the delish part! The cake! I thought it would be fitting to make a Red Velvet cake since it IS Valentine’s Month 🙂
Since this isn’t MY recipe- I’ll send you over to where I got it: REAL Simple! Love the stuff they’ve got going on over there.
Make your cake and eat it too!
Top your cake with a chandelier and you’ll have a real treat 🙂
Thanks for being a part of Well-Made Heart’s growth! If you haven’t already, make sure you sign up for the monthly newsletter! Since it is now officially February, I will be sending this month’s newsletter soon!
